We have enjoyed autumn in the Chesapeake, and especially renewing former acquaintances and making many new friends at the Kadey-Krogen Cruisers Rendezvous in Solomons, MD. About 38 boats and over 150 people attended! We traveled down to Deltaville, VA for a few minor adjustments to the boat, and a great seminar. Then on October 19 in the company of Wanderer's Rest, we traveled on a blustery north wind and seas aft down through Norfolk to Atlantic Yacht Basin in Chesapeake, VA. The following day we crossed Albermarle Sound and came down to the southern end of the Alligator River to anchor. The next day we traversed the Alligator-Pungo Canal, Pungo, Pamlico, and Neuse Rivers, and docked in Oriental, NC. We stayed two nights there in order to tour the town, and then traveled down to Morehead City to spend a nice couple of days and renew the friendship of a couple who used to live in Corpus Christi "before kids". We then departed Morehead City, headed offshore for Charleston, but an issue with one engine caused us to alter course and enter Masonboro Inlet at Wrightsville Beach, and then travel the next day down the ICW to Southport, NC for repair. We again thoroughly toured Southport, and noted what must be the eastern headquarters of the NoZe Brothehood (see the pink and blue).

Sounds like fun. How bad was the motor problem? Oriental is one of our favorites after spending a month there getting the transmission sort of fixed. We are just back in Green Cove Springs bringing White Pepper back to life. What a mountain of work every year. Full time cruising would be easier.
